1834 Sir John Soane, Architect Historical Medal by W Wyon
Sir John Soane died at his home in London aged 83. He is best known as the architect for The Bank of England and was knighted in 1831. He became the professor of architecture at The Royal Academy and top architects were awarded this medal in his name for achievements in the field for the next 100 years.
