1801 Lord Keith: Death of Sir Ralph Abercromby Historical Medallion by J G Hancock
Wounded during the battle of Alexandria Sir Ralph Abercomby courageously continued to fight until he knew the battle was won. He had been struck by a muscat ball in the thigh but it couldn't be removed. After a week, gangrene had set in and Abercromby died.
